Weekend Planner by Mystique Sept. 24-27
"There's nothing to do in El Paso."
"I hate El Paso. Nothing cool ever happens."
"Why can't we live somewhere else, where there's actually things to do?"
We call BULLSHIT!!! There is always something awesome happening in El Paso. And you know what? If there isn't, there is always something to do. An awesome place to chill with friends or family. A great place to eat and grab yourself a margarita. Don't believe us? Well, every week, we'll be putting together a weekend planner for you, starting on Thursdays. I know you crazy college kids purposely schedule Fridays free!

Last Thursdays Art Walk
If you're free this Thursday, and don't necessarily have to wake up too early on Friday, then Last Thursdays is definitely a must. The event organizers even put a handy map and schedule for you to make things easier! Great art, great food, atmosphere, and great drinks all make for a pretty fantastic Thursday night out. They recommend you start at 6:00 PM and in order to hit up all the stops, you'll be there until approximately 11:00 PM. Here's what we feel are the must stops:
After you've picked up your map at 400 W. San Antonio Street, head over to The Manchot and check out local artist Joe Acosta's work. Plus pick up your free margarita or aguas frescas!!!
The Rock House Cafe & Gallery is one of our Editor-in-Chief's favorite spots to hit up, regardless of Last Thursday. They have a great La Llorona exhibit with some awesome story telling. But this Thursday, they'll be featuring artist and Sculptor Ernesto Leal and his "Freedom and Vulnerability" Exhibit. Music, food, and more art, so you don't want to miss that! Located at 400 W. Overland.
The Night Owl at 316 S. Santa Fe St. will be featuring some great artwork by Michael Dominguez and PLUS $3 pints! Need I say more?
That doesn't even cover the rest of what's to be featured, so be sure to visit their Facebook page for more information!

Last Sunday Hike "Sombrero Hike"
The best way to end your eventful weekend is to enjoy the El Paso weather and scenery, and taking a nice leisurly early morning hike sounds absolutely perfect. Head on over to the Wyler Aerial Tramway State Park (the earlier the better so as to beat the heat) and have them help you go on the "Sombrero Hike." Be sure to bring water and snacks and always pick up after yourselves! More information can be found here and here.
