The Perfect Red Beer- Marina's Michelada
Since I was 11 years old my dad taught me his recipe for Classic Clamato beer. Now being 21, I have really grown a new appreciation for this drink. With all of the frequent request for the recipe I’m finally posting for all to see and enjoy!
What you will need:
Classico Clamato
Mexican beer, I chose Sol because it’s amazing but bud light or any light beer really does the trick
Limes 3, it is really a preference on how much lime juice you like. Fresh limes taste way better
Liquid Tajin ½ tsp (I make mine spicy so again it’s your preference)
Soy sauce ¼ tsp
Worcestershire sauce ¼ tsp
A pinch of salt
A pinch of celery salt
Makes on serving
Okay so the liquid tajin I can only find it at Albertsons so far which weird since we live in El Paso. I never is thought it would be hard to find. Everything else is relatively easy to find it’s probably in your fridge or pantry.
First cut your limes, as you can see in the picture below there’s a random patch of salt. That’s for my cool bar trick! Take half you lime and graze it across the rim on your glass. Then place the rim of the wet glass on you patch of salt turn is all the way around and boom! A perfectly salted rim, pretty cool huh?
Now take all of your ingredients besides the clamato and beer and toss it into your glass. Depending on the size of you glass you want everything to fill up about ¼ inch of your glass.
Add your clamato, depending on how red you like your red beer, or how much you want to mask the taste of your beer will give you an idea of how much to pour. Personally I pour half. It keeps a good balance between the beer and Clamato.
Add your beer of choice and Tada! Your perfect red beer! Remember this recipe has been mastered by yours truly for just about ten years. It bound to be good.
