Weekend To-Do: October 1st-4th, A Weekend of Music

Hey Everybody! We are way too excited for this weekend, but hey, that's every weekend actually. But this week, we decided to focus on some awesome music. It's funny how we're always hearing how El Paso never gets good bands that roll through and stop by to say hey in El Paso, but just becuase Jay-Z and Beyonce ain't visiting doesn't mean good music does not flourish in our city! If you're lacking To-Do's this weekend, check out our suggestions. Alot our quite affordable and some are even free!

Thursday, October 1st

Cheap Girls at Lowbrow

If you're into punk and indie sounds and maybe the end of the grunge era, then Cheap Girls is definitely a band to check out! They remind our Editor in Chief a bit of Weezer and Everclear, both fantastic bands. They sound very fun and The Lowbrow never lets us down when it comes to showing us some great music. Show starts at 10:00 PM and tickets range from $10-12.

El Paso Chopin Music Festival (Thursday-Sunday)

If you're going more for a classical feeling, make sure you check out the El Paso Chopin Music Festival sometime this weekend. Setting up at the infamous Chamizal Theater, it's surely going to be an amazing night out. The Chopin Music Festival is an ongoing seasonal festival, but it is coming to a close very soon. So if you can't make it this weekend, be sure to check out their schedule to see who will be performing. It will surely make a fantastic date night!

Panteon Rococo at Tricky Falls

If you're looking for a really awesome concert to catch this weekend, let it be Panteon Rococo at Tricky Falls! They remind us of Cafe Tacuba, with it's traditional Mexican flaire, rockin' heavy metal rhythms and riffs, and some kick ass vocals. For sure, it's going to be quite the show. Tickets are $25-35.
