3 Things the New Game of Thrones Teaser Poster Might Mean
Here at Mystique, we all have our little fandom craze. Their's one of our staff writers, Gaby Gonzalez, who is all about Once Upon a Time. Our Editorial Director, Ceci Ramos, has a thing for Doctor Who. And of course, we definitely do not limit ourselves. But I, in fact, go nuts over Game of Thrones. Seriously, I hyperventilate when I meet a fellow fan and I have to spill all the theories and go crazy and it's just a must for me to tell everybody who has not watched Game of Thrones yet, "You have not lived!!!" And at that point I have to convince them to move forward with their life and devote it to Game of Thrones...
That said, I absolutely have to address the latest update on Game of Thrones when HBO dropped this in our laps:
If you haven't watched the latest season of Game of Thrones, SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
*************
What's the big deal right? We've never flipped this many tits for the other posters (at least most of us....right?) Okay, I did...but to see more people freak out about this poster...well there are reasons. This poster brings up so many questions and still leaves them unanswered. Because of course we cannot know for sure what this all means. But I'm here to tell you what this definitely means:
1. Jon Snow is definitely making an appearance in the new season
Yes, I understand they could be flashbacks, but flashbacks to what? To the insignificant time before he headed for the Wall in that second episode? I definitely don't want to jinx it, because ever since that night seeing Jon Snow betrayed by his brothers, I've been on a rollercoaster of emotion.
"He's dead."
"He's going to come back."
"He cut his hair." "He didn't cut his hair."
"He's filming."
The poster definitely tells us that he will be back for sure...and most likely, he will be alive.
2. Winter is Coming in April (for sure!)
There was quite a bit of speculation that they're running behind on the filming because when HBO released the dates of new seasons for 2016, Game of Thrones was missing. I know when I read about this, I was mortified.
Same, girl.
I can't go into May without my fix! But the poster clearly says April. Although no specific dates have been given, we can narrow it down to the Sundays (obviously) and clear our schedules and keep them cleared until further notice. This is not a test!
3. You Can Never Trust What the Actors Tell You
The actors are pretty much in the dark up until filming begins. But even then, I can imagine what they're told to say when asked questions about characters' fates. So, when I hear Maise Williams and Kit Harrington claim that this was the end of Jon Snow...we couldn't really trust them. "How do you know Jon Snow's dead? Have you got the script? Hmm???" But ultimately, going off of the poster and seeing Jon Snow is most likely alive, this only verifies that the actors are a bunch of liars!!!
So ultimately, we're back into the same place we were before this poster came out. Most of us truly believed Jon Snow was coming back. We were pretty comfortable in saying it was coming out in April.
And Trust No One.
