3 Ingredient DIY Hair Mask
If you're like me, you LOVE to dye your hair. I think in the past year I've had like eight different hair colors. My poor hair has gone through hell and back with the harsh dyes. However, I discovered a simple, three ingredient, hair mask with key nutrients needed to help repair my poor lifeless hair.
Ingredients:
1-2* Tablespoons of Unrefined Coconut Oil (Coconut oil fixes EVERYTHING)
1-2* Large Eggs
1-2* Tablespoons of Olive Oil (I have a special olive oil by Regis, it's especially made for hair repair)
All measurements depend on length of hair*
OILS:
Coconut Oil-Coconut oil is meant to help literally everything. It's very versatile and has so many benefits. It helps seal in the moisture to your hair, (probably since it's so thick) and it also leaves your hair shiny and soft, WHICH IS WHAT I WANT. My hair dresser told me a good way to strengthen and repair your hair is to use vitamin rich products. Coconut oil is just that, it contains Vitamin K and E, as well as iron. All these promote hair growth, yay!
Eggs- Everyone knows that eggs are high in protein, obvioulsy. This protein helps repair and heal split ends, as well as promote hair growth. It sounds gross to put in your hair but it'll work wonders!
Olive Oil- The thickness of the oil helps condition and repair the scalp from damage. The use of olive oil can help your hair grow thicker due to an increased amount of blood flow. Who doesn't want thicker hair!?
Steps:
Add coconut oil into bowl, I basically eye-balled it because my hair is pretty long
Heat up oil for 20-25 seconds. (Make sure to stir it up real good and add the other ingredients immediately because once it starts to cool down it'll get chunky again.)
Once heated, add olive oil and eggs
Wisk until smooth. Like I said, you really need to be quick because the coconut oil will start getting chunky and it'll make it hard to add the mixture to your hair.
Apply from root to tip, mainly focus on tips or problem areas
Place plastic wrap or plastic bag. You will look funny, but remember beauty is pain, embarasment is a form of pain!
Let sit for one complete hour, watch the latest episode of American Horror Story! It's super intense!!!
Completely rinse out with luke warm water. You don't want any left over chunks in your hair for a late night snack1
Shampoo and Condition. I use Pantene's Damage Detox because it contains Mosa Mint which helps stimulate the hair follicles.
Allow hair to air dry, don't damage your hair more by adding heat!
Enjoy amazingly smooth, shiny, voluminous, Beyonce, "DAYUM GIRL," hair!
