Roasted Jalapeno Salsa
With this cold weather, nothing sounds better than a good salsa. This weekend I make smoked pork butt tacos and I made this salsa to accompany it. Needless to say it was a hit! This salsa is so easy to make, you will never want to buy it again. The ingredients are inexpensive and it makes a lot.
This salsa is spicy, if you want something mild, I will post later, however this one has a kick!

This salsa would be great on eggs, with beans, with steak, chicken, basically everything.I like to mix it with cottage cheese and eat it with corn chips. I know this sounds funny, most people will only eat cottage cheese with fruit, but trust me, with this salsa, and it is amazing.

I like to char my ingredients, some people like to boil the tomatoes, chiles, and onion. However, the deep caramelized flavor that develops from charring vegetables adds a special and unique touch to this salsa. I hope you make this at home and enjoy it!
Here are the ingredients you will need:
2-4 Tomatoes
1 Bunch of Cilantro
1 White Onion
10 Jalapeno Peppers
2 Serrano Peppers
2-3 cloves of garlic
Salt & Pepper to taste
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Add all of your ingredients to a very hot grill
Step 2: Make sure to turn them a few times in order to get a deep char on all sides:
Step 3: Remove all of the ingredients from the grill and take the stems and stalks off the peppers, onion, and tomatoes:
Step 4: place all of the ingredients in blender (I use a nutribullet) add the cilantro, salt, and pepper and blend until your desired consistency:
Step 5: Once all of the ingredients are well blended, transfer it to a jar (you do not want to use plastic, because you will never get the smell of salsa out of it!). The salsa will stay fine in the fridge for a week, but it will probably not last that long:
Enjoy it! :)
