DIY: Oily/Acne-Prone Skin Toner

Hey there! Today I’d like to share with you a great toner I found while searching Pinterest early last week.

I have problem skin; I’m not ashamed to say it. I have combination skin, so my skin is oily but still feels dry and dehydrated despite my best efforts. On top of that I have recently had a massive breakout - so zits galore and lots of redness. As a result I am always looking for something new to try, especially DIYs, so when I came across this I was pretty excited. Not only did it claim to solve all my skin problems but it was easy to make, and I also had all the ingredients in my kitchen.

After using this toner for a little more than a week, I can honestly say that my skin both looks and feels great. It has benefited my skin in all the ways it has said it would! This thing is like a miracle. My skin feels much more hydrated, my skin now produces dramatically less oil, most of my skin’s redness has subsided, and most of my acne has left. Amazing! I hope you try it, enjoy it, and the get the same out of it as I have.

What You’re Going to Need:

¾ cup Green Tea ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar

That’s it! Pretty simple. Green tea has many benefits for the skin: it can reduce redness and inflammation and also contains antioxidant properties and offers skin protective qualities!

Apple Cider Vinegar can help clear acne and also balances the pH level of your skin leaving your skin feeling more hydrated!

Step 1:

Brew your green tea: steep your tea according to instructions and let it cool. The green tea needs to be at least room temperature in order for it to mix properly with the apple cider vinegar.

Step 2:

Measure out the appropriate amounts of both the green tea and the apple cider vinegar, pour both into the same bottle, and voila, you are done!

I normally leave my bottle in the fridge so that way it stays fresh longer, this mixture will usually last for about 10 days that way.

Make sure you shake it well before each use! I use mine twice a day and just pour it on a cotton pad and spread it all over my face after I wash it, and follow up with my skin cream. Oh and heads up: this toner does have a vinegar-y smell, so don’t be alarmed.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy!
