Pantone Color of the Year

Earlier this week Pantone announced the color of the year, at pantone a lot of trend research goes into color in order to communicate color-critical industries, including digital technology, fashion, home, plastics, architecture and contract interiors, and paint. This year was actually a big deal that two colors were announced considering it was the very first time the company did so. Rose Quartz and Serenity complement each other even better together.

Rose Quartz a warm and soft pink paired up with the soothing cool blue are now the colors of the year 2016. The two colors are on opposite sides of the color wheel which offers a sense of balance that Pantone wanted. As a fashion design major like myself, our instructors expect us to know this as the pantone color of the year since they will predict upcoming trends. Pantone even shows examples of pairing the colors with sample pallets. If you are not a design major at least now you know an ice breaker at any holiday parties you might go to this break!
